Never Tote Your Stool and Sit on It!

It had been a typical day at the office for Bernice Thomas, the usual data spreadsheet entries, computing and interface adjusting, handling phone calls, interacting with other office personnel, filing, faxing and copying for the finance company she worked for.  She was very productive, yet; a nonchalant type of person.  She came to work, did her job and was out the door promptly at 5:00pm.  In fact, her professionalism and prestige made her quite distinguishable, as she aimed to climb the corporate ladder towards a career.  Consequently, all of her exceptional kudos became quite apparent to several other young ladies of whom had years of prominence with the company and were avid to befriend her.

The day had finally ended and while waiting at the bus stop on a nearby corner, Joy, Chelsea, Peyton and Madison, who were carpooling together greeted her and offered her a ride home.

“Hey Bernice,” they smiled.

“Hey,” she responded.

“Girl we have been trying to speak to you all day!  But you've been so busy, we never get the chance,” they all agreed.

“Oh really! I hadn't noticed. I do keep my mind on my work and I guess I'm guilty of that but the next time, just come over to my desk to say hello, I'm sure you all will be acknowledged,” she expressed.

“Yea, my bad!  I guess I could have but with you being so busy, I didn't bother.  So I see you're waiting on the bus, I'll be happy to give you a ride!  Where do you live,”  Joy offered?

“Oh no, but thanks! The bus will be along in a minute,” she confirmed.

“Oh don't be silly!  I'll be happy to take you home!  You can be home in no time, it beats standing around waiting on that darn bus!”

Bernice hesitated glancing down the street to make sure the bus wasn't quickly approaching.

“C'mon girl, get in,” Joy insisted.

“Well are you going near Springwood area? Because that's where I live.”

“Girl that's on our way! Hop in,” Joy invited noticing the girls making room for her to enter the vehicle.

Subsequently, minutes after they drove away the bus finally arrived.  Along the way the girls interacted in a little friendly chitchat.

“So Bernice, how do you like your job,”  Peyton inquired?

“Oh I love it!  And I'm learning a lot,” she replied.

“So you've been with the company now - what 4-months,” Madison queried?
